Revolutionary Water Filter System Removes Microplastics from Drinking Water

This blog entry discusses a new water filter system developed by researchers at the University of Rochester which is capable of removing nearly all microplastics from water. The filter is composed of tiny strands of carbon nanotube that are capable of trapping particles down to the nanometer level, and is able to filter out particles as small as 2 nanometers. The filter is able to remove up to 99.9% of microplastics from water, and is also capable of removing other contaminants such as heavy metals and dyes. The filter can also be used in both fresh and saltwater, and is easy to use, making it a viable solution for filtering water in developing countries.
